Auckland Warriors

Meanga tatou ki te rekareka: Lets have some fun! Rugby league brings us together.

As the fighting Vodafone Warriors got prepped to challenge the mighty Manly Sea Eagles.
They played in Sydney, Australia on Sunday afternoon. Manu’s desire to win, as he dodged and sidestep down the side line to score our first try.

The Manly Sea Eagles were on match for the Warriors but the Manly Sea Eagles did not give up. Some of the Warriors got some tries & some of them had amazing skills to perform in front of the crowd. I was so proud that the Warriors went hard out to win this incredible match.

Before the game was over I had noticed that the Manly Sea Eagles had won. Kau mau te wehi Warriors! Maybe next time you will be holding that trophy!!!!

Levi's ALFAJORCITOS

Mmmm huele los aflajorcitos tan riquisimo. Room 13 were so lucky to make alfajorcitos in their class.

“Come on & eat these very delicious aflajorcitos with me.”

The Alfajorcitos are from Argentina and are their favourite treat.
Alfajorcitos are a sort of biscuit filled with a kind of caramel. They tasted very nice. Listen to this “they are delicioso”.

We got two biscuits to spread the dulce de leche on with a knife. After squishing the biscuits together, we rolled them in coconut. They were so nice to eat that I dribbled everywhere. I asked the teacher for some more but she said no.

I didn’t eat a lot because they might make me fat. But they did taste nice. I know will stuff an alfajorcito into my mouth if I ever see one again.

Levi's AFL Story

What a day this is to play AFL on Thusrdays. Come and join me.

The weather kept changing from sunshine to blustery, cold and wet. As we were playing the wind was getting to the point of when it would be like a cyclone. As the wind got stronger and stronger I got even weaker and weaker.

Our warm up was called “Bumper Jumper”. You play by hopping and using your shoulders to make your partner fall over. While bumping my partner I had fun and I won too!

Then we went on the courts to do some AFL skills. One of the skills we learnt was how to bounce the ball while jogging. First we did it on our knees, then while walking and finally we tried jogging.

After bouncing the ball we played a game called “kick baseball”. This game helped us practiced lots of our skills. It was sort of like regular baseball, but we kicked the ball. I kicked and ran but before I got to the base I had to bounce the ball. I fumbled and slipped in the mud. While fielding my team caught lots of players out. That is what made our team win.

We were filed of excitement when we heard that we had won. Hopefully we get to play that game again.

Playstation 3 Weekend

I was doing amazing moves on the Playstation 3, as we were playing Lego Star Wars 2. There were fantastic levels to be played by some awesome kids. My favorite character in Lego Star Wars 2 was Master Windu, because he had a purple lightsaber and had a baldy.

Master Windu was very skillful and he also had powers like the force and other things. He had awesome moves, he was very smart and he was a master of some of the Jedis. As me and my brothers played Star Wars, we had to share it, so I played with Toby, and Jordan was with Noah.

We only had four days to play on it. As we were playing it, we had to come up with a plan to go to the next level. We also were fighting over the playstation because we wanted to keep on playing.

I have typed all of the cool games that we got to play and here is the list: Tekken 6, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Despicable me. I am eagerly awaiting for the next round of Playstation.

Cross Country

Before giving a burst of speed I was so scared, I felt sick. I began taking deep breaths.

Eagerly waiting for Pt England’s Cross Country to start, I was nervous. I wanted to beat Jabez. As Mr Burt said "On your marks, get set, go!!" I charged so I could stay at the front.
Despite my nerves. I said to myself "You can do it".

During the race it was very hard to stay on the path, as it was narrow and twisted and turned all over the place. Sometimes I had to go off the track, onto the grass, to be able to pass people. My heart pounded as fast as a machine to get blood to my screaming lungs.

Towards the end of the race, I knew that I was in front. I challenged myself to not let anyone pass me. Digging deep to find my energy, I charged towards the finish line.

Approaching my ultimate goal, I sprinted like a chicken to collapse over the line - victorious! I had beaten Jabez and won the Cross Country for the second time since I have been at school!

I felt so proud of myself for surpassing my expectations and getting my champion’s title. Bring on next year!

Preparing to battle the All Blacks intimidated the opposition. Strong and powerful piercing screams were heard during the haka. The spring bok players challenged the NZ warriors. They had been doing there moves to the haka.

Buzzy Bee

New Zealand is a population of mixed cultures, and we are different because we are New Zealanders. Our Kiwiana shows how special Aotearoa is, an isand that is isolated, and unique.

New Zealand has lots of treasures like the Buzzy Bee. A Buzzy Bee is a New Zealand playful toy, which is an old icon. In the 1930’s the Buzzy Bee was made. Lots of children like to enjoy their Buzzy Bee.

The
tiki is a traditional, classic ,NZ icon.In Aotearoa they are made from
greenstone known as pounamu. It is also created out of bones.

William Webb Ellis

The game football 1750 1859 sometimes 1855 1823 rules 1845 in 1869 goal forward run with the ball had to stop oppositioin’s goal no fixed limit finnovation played towards rolling. William Webb Ellis was a kid who liked playing football. Instead of stopping when he got the ball he just keep-ed on running with the ball. Then they wrote the rules and they keep-ed on playing rugby and now the rules hav-ed say-ed the same. Their are a lot of people like the new rule better then the old rule.

Snow Boarding

Dashing down with a powerful push I zoomed down the snow like lightening. As I zigzaged down the smooth snow that I had to make it. While I dashed down I said to myself “don’t fall Levi, don’t”.

Carving my way through the icy snow, and I had fallen over. I was amazed seeing my very cool parents snow boarding with there fabulous moves. Me and my mum are not good turners on our snow boards but we won’t give up. I had a great time snow boarding.

Were we went to snow board on the snow mountain at Ohakune. Tasting the fresh wind while it was blowing in my face. I had been twisting and turning so that I could be like my amazing father. Seeing other great snow boarders zoom right passed me, I thought” I would be like them.” When my pretty mother had twisted her leg then she didn’t give up.

Jordan my brother had not fallen off his snow board and he was fantastic. Building a small hut that me and Jordan could play war in it. Sticks and logs were fun to play with. Then we climbed up a tree. We looked like crazy monkeys. Our pretty mother took some pictures of us in our hut. We should make more huts. It’s cool making them. If you make a hut you are amazing. Huts are amazing. the secret enter door was very secret. That was my best door to the hut.

Jonah Lomu

Jonah Lomu was a great runner so the All Black coach was really excited that he asked Jonah Lomu to join the all blacks. He was so amazing that he played 63 games with the all blacks. He played in Wales then Hong Kong. He was a global champion.
He had dialysis in 2003 and his kidneys were a problem to him because he couldn’t play rugby. Then in 2004 he had a transplant then in 2005. He began to come back to the all blacks. He got so tired of playing rugby so he did give because he was getting to old to play rugby.

Weet-Bix Challenge

I have never laughed so much and got so messy at assembly until today. I was a part of a weet-bix challenge where you had to stand behind a person and feed them weet-bix. The first team to finish all the weet-bix was the winner. Each team had two people and there were three teams. Miss Lavakula was in my team Mrs Barks shouted out "3, 2, 1 go!!!" I rushed and even though I struggled getting the weet-bix into her mouth and made a mess on the stage, Miss Lavakula and I won.

I pretended I had not eaten for a whole year, and that's why I think we won. Maybe next time Miss Lavakula could feed me because I love weet-bix.
